Thompson Magnetics Remove Nails from Grindings
Date Posted: 5/2/2005
Thompson Magnetics supplies industrial magnets, magnetic separators and magnetic sweepers.
The company’s magnetic separators, for example, are used in pallet recycling applications to remove nail fragments from grinding scrap pallets and waste material generated from pallet recycling operations.
Thompson Magnetics specializes in difficult and custom applications. The company can fabricate custom magnetic separators for materials that are difficult to separate.
Thompson Magnetics uses rare earth, neodymium magnet material to separate ultra-fine particles, leaving wood grindings cleaned and purified. Ceramic-8A magnet material is used for standard magnetic applications.
The company offers a number of different solutions for separating ferrous metal, including permanent and electro-magnets, magnetic head pulleys, plate magnets, drum magnetic separators, magnetic drawer-in-housing, magnetic chutes, and tube grate magnets.
For example, a magnetic head pulley is an efficient method of removing nails and other ferrous debris from wood grindings. Mounted at the discharge end of the conveyor, the magnetic head pulley separates ferrous debris from the material flow. It is also a good supplement to a suspended separator magnet system. Units are available in a variety of sizes and include shaft sized and keyed to customer specifications.
Thompson Magnetics also manufactures magnetic sweepers and brooms. Magnetic sweepers and brooms can prevent foreign object damage, injuries and flat tires by removing hazardous tramp metal from plants and yards.
Magnetic sweepers are available as suspended models and tow-behind units; they are mounted easily on forklifts and other industrial equipment. They are available with optional fork pockets, skid wheels and quick clean trays. Magnetic sweepers are manufactured with high grade ceramic 8A magnet material, and magnetic circuitry ensures strong, permanent magnetic power.
Magnetic sweepers feature a long lasting aluminum housing or extreme duty CS steel housing to withstand harsh conditions. They are built with a thick inner steel frame and permanently secured end caps.
