Wood-Mizer Adds Entry Level Mill

Wood-Mizer introduced a new portable band sawmill. The new LT10 is
the smallest in the company’s line of
sawmills.

The LT10 is powered by a 7.8 hp engine and features a pressured blade lubrication system. The manually operated sawmill will cut 55-100 board feet per hour, according to the company.

The LT10 can saw logs up to 24 inches in diameter and up to 11 feet long. An unlimited number of 7-foot bed extensions can be added for longer logs.

The LT10, priced at $3,995, is designed for hobbyists and can be broken down and stored in the corner of a garage.

"Wood-Mizer wanted to design an entry level mill for weekend sawyers who love the idea of cutting their own lumber but want to minimize their investment," said Dave Mann, vice president of the portable sawmill division. "This mill is
a complete package and comes ready
to saw."

AMS Supplies Pallet Heat-Treating Systems

Automated Machine Systems (AMS) supplies four different models
of pallet sterilizers
manufactured by Converta Kiln Inc. under an exclusive agreement to represent Converta Kiln in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The sterilizer chambers are prefabricated, all-aluminum buildings with a direct fired burner system capable of using natural gas or propane. All models come with or without loading carts and are guaranteed to sterilize their capacities in 2 hours or less. Control systems record and chart the pallet core temperatures to ensure proper sterilizing temperatures and automatically shuts down after pallet stringers have reached and maintained the appropriate temperature.

Depending on the model and capacity, the sterilization chambers can heat-treat from 315 to 1,890 48x40 pallets.

AMS is a full design and supply integrator of automation and computerization for the pallet and material handling industries.

For more information, call AMS at (877) 267-8384 or visit the Web site at www.amssystems.com.

Ligna Machinery Offers Laserex Laser Diodes

Ligna Machinery is the exclusive
U.S. distributor of Laserex Technologies lasers.

The Laserex LDM-4 is a compact, rugged, reliable laser diode module that can function in temperatures ranging from 50 degrees below zero to 120 degrees and is only 1-1/4 inch long and ˝-inch in diameter. Applications include harsh industrial conditions, such as sawmills.

Two versions are available with powers of 10mW and 30mW. The Laserex LDM-4 laser module comes with a 635nm ultra bright diode that operates off 3-6V dc.

The company offers different line generators to produce a bright, crisp, highly visible laser line. An optional uniform intensity line generator produces a
laser line of equal brightness along the entire line.

The laser diodes have an average life of 10,000 hours and are available with a number of mounting options.
