G-Tek Sells Assets to Brewco Inc. Brewco acquires the assets of G-Tek, and members of G-Tek staff join the Brewco team. By Staff Date Posted: 11/1/2005 G-Tek Industries, which emerged on the pallet supplier scene in January 2003, has sold its assets to Brewco Inc., one of the largest sawmill equipment companies in the country. Brad Ginsburg, David Greenwood and Darren Grogan, With more than 60 years of combined industry experience, the G-Tek staff will boost Brewco’s pallet expertise. Brewco intends to expand its current operation to allow for manufacturing of G-Tek equipment and new products. The acquisition makes Brewco one of the few suppliers in the industry capable of offering complete sawmill and pallet systems. Brad Ginsburg, president of G-Tek, said that his company had grown from $900,000 in sales to three million in 12 months. According to Brad, G-Tek’s rapid growth forced the company into a position where it would have to expand beyond its existing 18,000 sq. feet facility. Faced with either investing more money in the operation or joining the Brewco team, Brad and his partners chose to sell. Brewco has plenty of plant capacity and resources to handle the G-Tek line which includes: gang saws, trim saws, unscramblers, infeed decks, side planers, chamfers, cut-off saws, notchers, chain-fed notchers, bandsaws, cant lines, and grade runaround systems. Devin Dearth, president of Brewco, said, "G-Tek’s innovative and heavy-duty machinery designs and ideas will be integrated into an expanded Brewco line of equipment." The parties involved did not disclose the purchase price. Brewco bought only the assets and not the liabilities of G-Tek. The sale will formally close in November according to Brad. However, Brad, David and Darren are already working for Brewco. "Brewco is going to stock a large inventory of parts for G-Tek equipment," said Brad. Brewco hopes to make a bigger push into the pallet lumber machinery market with its acquisition. G-Tek products will now be marketed under the Brewco name. |
