ICE Develops New Blade for Recyclers

International Carbide & Engineering Inc. has developed a new 10-inch, 40-tooth carbide-tipped saw blade for pallet recyclers. The blade increases cutting life by 400%-800%, according to ICE.

Although not a true nail-cutting saw blade, field tests have demonstrated typical cutting life of two days or more when sawing recycling pallet lumber, according to ICE. Other economy carbide-tipped saw blades must be discarded after two to four hours of cutting recycled lumber, the company noted.

ICE developed a new, special bore it has called the ICE QC (Quad-C) Bore. It allows users to easily modify the bore from the standard 5/8-inch bore to 1-inch or 1-1/4 inches.

The new ICE blade is manufactured to industrial specifications utilizing laser-cut saw steel, special carbide tips, precision sharpening, expansion slots and machine tensioning.
