Clarence Leising Rejoins Bronco Pallet Systems

It was not surprising when we learned that Clarence Leising is returning to the pallet industry. After working most of his life with pallets, it is safe to say that Clarence has pallets in his blood. After a career that includes managing a pallet shop in New York, selling and installing Bronco pallet systems, and then selling and servicing Eagle pallet repair plates, Clarence is again going to install Bronco pallet repairing and recycling systems.

Many readers know that Clarence wrote Pallet Head, the only book written about how to run a pallet recycling company. Clarence is certainly a knowledgeable people when it comes to managing pallet recycling plants. It did not surprise the Enterprise staff when he came back to the pallet industry after being gone for over a year.

Clarence said that he installs the kind of repairing systems he does because he wants people who repair pallets to be able to get old on the job. Repairing that is too labor intensive literally wears a person out after six or seven years. So, he set his sights on automating effectively.

The Bronco recycling systems that Clarence installs eliminate much of the lifting. One quality control operator makes the decisions that control the system. Clarence typically installs a system on a weekend so it is ready to put into service when a new week starts.

For more information about Bronco’s pallet recycling systems, call 800/458-5462 or visit www.broncosys.com.

Dean Bodem Retires from Viking

On December 23rd the Viking team bid farewell to Dean Bodem as he retired.  It’s our understanding that Dean will be staying active working on his tennis game, spending more time with his family, remodeling the lake cabin with his wife Leslye, and continuing to have new adventures away from Viking. Last year for his birthday he went skydiving for the first time, so who knows what will come next.

Dean started at Viking in 1982 as its Corporate Controller. He then moved to VP of Leasing, VP of Finance, and became President in 1998. Under Dean’s guidance Viking became a fully employee owned ESOP company. He was active in the local and national ESOP associations.  Dean was critical in the development of Viking Financial Services, the lending and leasing division of Viking Engineering. Under Dean’s tenure as President, Viking acquired ADT and entered the structural building component equipment industry.  Dean’s duties at Viking have been assumed by Mark Stevens.

Viking’s employees ask readers to join them in wishing Dean a happy and healthy retirement.
