In April the Pallet Enterprise carried a complete article about the formation of Unipal International, Ltd. Co. (UIC) in Boise, Idaho. UIC bought the North American rights to the Unipal process from Mondi Technology Investments of Luxembourg.

            This month UIC finalized the purchase of Mondi’s proprietary interests, technology, and licensing agreements for the manufacture and sale of the Unipal corrugated pallet line and other shipping and storage applications for all countries of the world. Thus, UIC will be handling manufacturing and sales of the Unipal corrugated pallet line worldwide.

            UIC indicates that market interests in Unipal have increased significantly due to the ever expanding demand for alternative solutions for widely used wooden and plastic pallets. Alternative pallet materials are due to government regulations (such as ISPM-15), environmental concerns and pressures, and ever increasing transportation costs.

            UIC has committed its newly formed company to establish a “worldwide footprint” for Unipal through both company-owned and licensee-owned operations to be established where market demand in the North American market is so determined. For more information, call 877/839-3943.
