Since its early days, Excelsior has manufactured rubber stamps, stencils and tags. But several years ago, Excelsior recognized a need in the pallet industry to provide a marking solution to help companies comply with ISPM-15 as well as other certification programs. The solution needed to be easy to use, durable, cost effective and able to meet inspection agency standards. Excelsior developed the Pallet Stamp as a solution to fit a wide variety of applications. It has multiple customizable options, such as a flat or curved mount, dowel or knob handle, Buna or natural rubber, pre-inked or self- inked, and a round or square shape.

As Excelsior learned more from customers and inspection agencies, its product offerings for the pallet industry grew and improved.

“Through the involvement and membership in the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association and the National Hardwood Lumber Association we learned more about the pallet industry,” said Dave Sutter, president and owner of Excelsior.

Being a member of the NWPCA also helps Excelsior keep up to date with the latest news and information regarding regulations and requirements for pallet identification.

Today, Excelsior’s pallet industry products include IPPC branding dies, hand held branders, custom engraved dies, custom stencils and laser engraving equipment - all great ways to mark pallets with a clean and legible brand.

The X-Out Stamp is a special product that solves the problem of previous markings on pallets. The continuous self-inking roller is used to cover previous markings, saving pallet companies time and money. The latest addition to the Excelsior Marking product offering is a new thin branding die. It will heat faster and allow pallet manufacturers to reduce the temperature on their branding head. This, in turn, helps extend the life of the heating element. Coupled with sharp face engraving, pallet companies can now brand products quicker, with less heat and more consistency.

Excelsior also offers a wide range of inks and pads, cleaners, branding iron attachments, stenciling and other marking supplements. And its customer service team is available to help pallet companies find the best fit for each specific application.

Excelsior has come a long way from its early beginnings, but it has kept the same mantra for over 100 years: “We know that the best way to make a lasting impression is to help our customers do the same.”

To meet this goal, Excelsior makes providing effective solutions for pallet customers its  top priority. The company believes the best salesman is a happy customer, and uses word of mouth as a part of its overall marketing effort. With 20 team members, Excelsior is small enough to provide personal attention to each customer but large enough to provide the most up-to-date solutions.

“Our team is interested in providing the most effective solution to the customer’s needs and supporting the effort with quality manufacturing and exceptional customer service,” said Sutter.
