During the hectic day-to-day pace of running a business, with so many management issues demanding your time, such as sales, labor, and cash flow, do you ever wonder how you could possibly find time to make a real impact or difference in the pallet industry? It's much easier than you think!
Research into pallets and containers helps you better understand your product and industry and gives you a competitive advantage that sets you apart as a knowledgeable supplier-partner with your customer. Do you consider it important to keep receiving the benefits from such research and to ensure that it continues? It's much easier than you think!
Would you like to give back something to the industry that has provided a good living to you and your family and perhaps more generations? Would you like to honor someone who has made a difference in your business? It's much easier than you think!
There really is an easy way to give something back to the industry that has given so much to you, to help ensure that your company can continue to reap the benefits from pallet and container research, to enable the future success of the industry and the companies it supports. You can accomplish all these things by making a gift to the Pallet Foundation.
The Pallet Foundation was formed in 1996 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting education, training, research, and safety in the pallet industry -- safety among those who manufacture and recycle pallets and those who use pallets. It was founded by a small group of companies that each pledged to give $10,000 over five years.
Anyone can make a gift to the Pallet Foundation. The minium donation is $100. Gifts may be made in honor or memory of any individual or business. Each gift is established as an individual endowment, and the giver may specify that it be applied to one of four areas for research, education and training, marketing, or safety.
As funds are accumulated for these four categories, they are conservatively and wisely invested for growth and income. Income from the investments is used to award grants for research and studies into the four core areas. The Pallet Foundation now has an endowment of more than $300,000 that has been contributed or pledged.
The Pallet Foundation is governed by its own by-laws and board of directors, which makes decisions about investments and grants. The board of directors meets annually to consider requests for grants for various projects. In recent years, for example, it awarded a $7,500 grant to Virginia Tech to partially fund research to revise the Pallet Design Software program to incorporate used pallet components.
The Pallet Foundation is not part of the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association. It receives no funds from the association nor does it contribute to the associationís operating budget.
The Pallet Foundation depends entirely on gifts from individuals and businesses, and that is why it needs your support.
Please consider your legacy in the pallet industry, and consider supporting the programs and initiatives that have been made possible by the Pallet Foundation. Start an endowment today!
